We are based in Herne Bay, a small town on the north-east coast of Kent, about 1.5 hours by car or public transport from east London.
This tranquil town offers the people who use our services a relaxing and a welcoming environment to help them through their recovery journey. At the same time, it's home to a vibrant and very active community, with events such as the annual Herne Bay Festival, which brings musicians, beauty queens and sports stars to celebrate with the locals. Harbour Care is a part of this community and we actively seek to make a positive difference to the local population as well as the people who use our services.
The area is also rich with award-winning beaches and walks, historic attractions, museums and art galleries. All that provides great opportunities for the people who use our services to engage with the wider community, enjoy day trips and outings, and get involved in events and festivals.
Within the town, we operate from two sites:
Harbour Home – our residential care home, located five minutes' walk from the seafront. The accommodation consists of 12 individual, self-contained "studio" apartments. Residents also have access to the communal kitchen, dining area, lounge and garden.
Harbour Lodge – purpose-built flats for our supported living service. Located five minutes' walk from the seafront, the accommodation consists of 11 one-bedroom apartments.
Our latest location is at Sussex Avenue within the city of Canterbury:
Harbour Sussex Avenue offers 5 purpose-built one-bedroom flats with a spacious and comfortable communal lounge and kitchen. There is also a purpose-built office and a large garden.
We provide our Outreach Services to people living in Herne Bay, the City of Canterbury and local districts.
