Directions

By Train

Herne Bay is on the main line railway network on the London to Margate route run by Southeastern Railways. Trains depart from Victoria or Cannon Street (London Underground) up to four times every hour, with a journey time of around 1 hour. Southeastern provide various promotional offers including Group Save and Day Trips.

By Coach

National Express run services to Herne Bay from Victoria Coach Station from around £8 with a journey time of around 2 hours. Alternatively, a more frequent service runs to Canterbury with frequent bus connections.

By Road

The town is served by the improved A200 (Thames Way) from junction 7 of the M2. The new road is now fully open and has dramatically reduced journey times from the Whitstable junction. Simply follow signs to Margate/Ramsgate until you reach the town. The journey time from central London is around 1 hour 40 mins (1 hour from the Dartford Crossing)
